We are so incredibly honored to receive this special recognition from the Make-A-Wish® Greater Bay Area team. They awarded the Hyatt Hotels of the Bay Area the “Thanks a Million” award for our tournament raising over $1M in its 13 year history. It was such an amazing moment and we thank you so much for your continued support.
About Make-A-Wish® Greater Bay Area
Mission
We grant the wishes of children with life-threatening medical conditions to enrich the human experience with hope, strength and joy.
Our Mission is to help raise the spirits of our Bay Area Make-A-Wish children. The Swing for Wishes golf tournament enables us to create hope, happiness and make a difference in each of their lives.
In 2006, Chicago Based Global Hyatt Corporation announced a worldwide partnership with Make-A-Wish® America, a global organization that grants the wishes of children with life-threatening medical conditions.
The global partnership sparked collaboration between Hyatt Hotels of San Francisco and Make-A-Wish® Greater Bay Area. The resulting Swing for Wishes annual golf tournament and fundraiser has drawn in nearly 1,800 golf participants and has raised over $1,325,000 for Make-A-Wish® Greater Bay Area.
About Swing for Wishes
Make-A-Wish®Greater Bay Area is part of the nation’s largest and most well-established wish-granting organization, with chapters and volunteers throughout the U.S. and abroad.
Our local staff is dedicated to granting the wishes of children with life threatening medical conditions to enrich the human experience with hope, strength, and joy, and maintaining the foundation’s grassroots fulfillment of its mission.
The work of the chapter is accomplished by a volunteer governing Board of Directors, an Advisory Council, a Young Professional Advisory Council, a Junior Young Professional Advisory Council, a paid staff of dedicated employees and hundreds of dedicated volunteers. The chapter is a 501(c)(3) non-profit incorporated in the state of California, dedicated to helping share the power of a wish®.
